Joann Ordoñez is a renowned professional dancer and certified dance pedagogue, whose career spans over a decade, marked by a passion for teaching and a deep commitment to the art of dance. Based in Heidelberg, Germany since 2016, Joann specializes in Oriental Dance and Salsa Lady Style. She is the visionary behind TanzLab, a vibrant dance studio she launched in 2021, dedicated to various dance styles including Belly Dance and Salsa Lady Style. At TanzLab, Joann focuses on empowering her students, fostering self-confidence, and promoting an appreciation for the cultural depths of dance.

Her journey into the world of dance began at a very young age, participating in family events filled with salsa and bachata, which sparked her early interest in performance. This passion led her to the  Conservatory of Music and Dance in Cuenca, Ecuador, where she honed her musical skills. Further refining her craft, Joann studied at the Sussy Shabannah School of Oriental Dances in Ecuador and later, the Arabian Dance School in Buenos Aires under the mentorship of Amir Thaleb, and participated in advanced sessions at Saida's “Pink” Academy.

She also successfully completed a professional certification in Oriental Dance under Dina Talaat in Cairo.  Her commitment to continuous learning is evident in her participation in prestigious training programs like those led by Randa Kamel and Tito Seif, along with attending hundreds of workshops worldwide across various dance styles, demonstrating her dedication to growth and technical mastery.

Through her school, TanzLab, and her teachings, Joann Ordoñez not only shares her rich expertise but also her joy and discipline in dance, enriching the lives of those around her and connecting cultures and continents through the universal language of dance. Her story is one of unending curiosity, dedication to her craft, and the transformative power of dance in both personal and communal spheres.

In her competitive career, Joann has secured 22 victories in 25 international competitions and excelled at prestigious events such as Cairo by Night in Greece, Nile Group Festival in Egypt, and the Elite Tito Seif Master Program. As a choreographer, she has created and led four dance productions, with her latest project, Fusion (2024), featuring over 40 performers from diverse backgrounds.

Joann began teaching dance at the age of 17 and has since instructed a wide range of age groups from children to adults in various dance forms. Her teaching credentials are further enhanced by her experience in Cairo, making her a recognized figure in international dance education.
